1. Daily Planner

What It Does

Helps you schedule your day by automatically creating calendar events and reminders.

Steps to Create

  • Open Shortcuts and tap +.
  • Add “Ask for Input” to type what event you want to plan.
  • Add “Add New Event” to create a calendar event with that text.
  • (Optional) Add “Add New Reminder” to create a reminder at the same time.
  • Name it “Daily Planner.”

How to Use

  • Run it, enter your event/task, and it places it on your calendar and sets a reminder.

2. Fitness Tracker Sync

What It Does

Lets you sync your workout or health data with a fitness app (Strava, MyFitnessPal, etc.).

Steps to Create

  • Open Shortcuts and tap +.
  • Check if your fitness app has Shortcut actions (e.g., “Log Workout”). If yes, add it.
  • If not, use “Open App” to quickly launch the fitness app.
  • (Optional) Use “Get Health Samples” or “Log Health Sample” to record steps, etc.
  • Name it “Fitness Sync.”

How to Use

  • After your workout, run it to log data automatically or open the app to do it manually.

3. Weather Update

What It Does

Shows or speaks the current weather and forecast instantly.

Steps to Create

  • Open Shortcuts and tap +.
  • Add “Get Current Weather” or “Get Weather Forecast.”
  • Use “Show Result,” “Speak Text,” or “Show Notification” to display/speak the info.
  • Name it “Weather Update.”

How to Use

  • Run it or ask Siri, and you’ll immediately get the latest weather details.

Tips for Using Shortcuts

  • Add to Home Screen: In a shortcut’s edit view, tap the share icon or “…” and select “Add to Home Screen.”
  • Use Siri: Name your shortcut something simple, then say “Hey Siri, [ShortcutName].”
  • Automations: In Shortcuts, go to Automation > Create Personal Automation to have a shortcut run automatically (e.g., daily at 8 AM).
